Russian Church Children's Center is a ministry of Grace Russian United Methodist Church
(new Russian United Methodist Church of Baltimore-Washington Conference) for Russian-speaking children and
families. The mission of Russian Church Children' Center is to preserve Russian cultural and spiritual heritage in young generation.
We believe that Russian Church Children's Center is God's home that is open for all kids, no matter what religious, social or economic background they
come from. With joy and love we serve to children of all ages who come to the USA from different republics of former USSR. We have children from
Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Moldova, Armenia, and Kazakhstan. We also extend our ministry to English-speaking families who adopted kids from
republics of former USSR.
Through educational activities we provide Russian-speaking children with opportunity to appreciate and love their language, traditions and spirituality.
Our carefully developed program helps children to learn the basics of Christian Ethics and Spirituality, to learn the meanings and symbols of Russian
liturgical holidays (including Easter and Christmas). We work in co-operation with families on nurturing spiritually and physically healthy children who know how
to share, love, help, be friends, be compassionate, respectful, appreciative and be disciplined.
We believe that Russian language is a powerful tool to explore the beauty of Russian culture. Therefore, in our center we always work on learning and
improving of writing, reading, and listening skills. We have different groups according to the language proficiency and age (from beginners to advanced).
For children who speak English and forget Russian we have special speech-development classes, where we work more on building vocabulary and pronunciation.
We want to make a learning process to be fun; and through educational, musical and rhythmical games, story telling, songs, tong twisters,
theater plays, dance children can enjoy their classes. For more details see our Schedule and
Events.
